Introducing: From The Spartan Archives

Over the course of the next few weeks, we’ll be bringing you a collection of stories based on our very extensive Leeming Spartan history!

With the aid of two Spartan legends in Graeme Ashley and Brian Waterer, we’ll be working to organise a series of posts based on the history of the Club – including any amazing, funny, rare, and incredible bits of information that we’ve collected over the last ninety nine years!

2017/18 Committee

Following yesterday’s Annual General Meeting, we are delighted to confirm the newly elected members who will lead the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club in its 99th year!

Congratulations to all returning and retiring Committee Members, in particular to Peter Coombs who returns for his third year as President.

Bull Creek Spartans 1985

The second instalment in our new “From The Spartan Archives” series recounts part of what was a comparatively brief chapter in our extensive history, our time at Trevor Gribble Reserve as the Bull Creek Spartans.

Specifically, this edition looks at the year of 1985, what proved to be our final one on Parry Avenue, before our move to John Connell Reserve.

From Singapore With Love

Later this year the Bonds, Graeme and Tab, are taking a sixes cricket team (the ‘Singapore Spartans’) to Singapore to compete in a social competition over the June long weekend.

All members are welcome to come along and play!

Our First Premiership Trophy!

The first instalment in our new “From The Spartan Archives” series features something truly incredible – our first ever premiership trophy!

During our Annual General Meeting last Sunday, we were delighted to receive the Club’s first ever premiership memorabilia from Brian Waterer, who incredibly and unexpectedly brought it along, and it will now sit in prime position in our trophy cabinet!
