As most of you will know by now, Leeming Spartan has been lobbying the City of Melville for over 25 years now to complete the much-needed ground extension at John Connell Reserve.
This ground extension would allow our cricket club, as well as our Junior Club to have a second cricket oval to play home games on as well as the also much needed relocation of our well used and outdated nets closer to our clubrooms at John Connell nearer to the carpark.
The next stage of the ‘John Connell Reserve Master Plan” is a community survey produced by the City of Melville. We require ALL members, family members etc to complete this survey which will help continue our momentum to get this project over the line in our club’s favour. Below is a further explanation and the link from the City of Melville which is open until April 2nd;
The John Connell Reserve Master Plan community survey is now open on the Melville Talks project webpage! The survey closes on 2 April 2023.
In addition to completing the survey yourself, please encourage your friends, family and community contacts to participate as well.
For Clubs and user groups, it would be most appreciated if you could forward the link to the survey https://www.melvillecity.com.au/johnconnellreserve to all of your committee, members, participants, parents, spectators and coaches encouraging them to complete the survey before the 2nd April.
A number of communications and marketing activities will take place to support participation in the survey such as an update to all on-site signage, a letter mail out to Leeming residents, various digital and social media channels, local newspaper advert in tomorrow’s paper, posters and flyers at a number of facilities/locations across the City.
