Last weekend, the club had it’s second player to pass the 300-career game milestone this season for Leeming Spartans.
Kevin Poller is our latest Spartan to reach the 300 game milestone which he achieved in the final round of the season while playing in our Sixth Grade side against Willetton Crows.
“KP” began his Spartan career way back in Season 1995-96. A genuine all-rounder, he has amassed 4920 runs including 15 half century scores and his first and only century for Leeming coming earlier this season – 101 not out (of course) vs Cannington Tigers. Kev is also famous for not giving away his wicket to anyone. He has recorded a career total of 74 not out’s for Leeming along the journey.

With the ball, Poller has been just as affective with his wily “off-breaks”, taking a career total of 274 wickets with his best bowling of 7/15. He has also recorded another three x five wicket hauls.
Add in his 157 career catches and 7 stumpings to boot! Kev has racked up six premiership wins for his career, hopefully another flag to come this season with our Sixth Grade in the semi-finals this weekend.

Off the field, Kev also served on our club committee for a season. In 2017, he was elevated to Life Membership of Leeming Spartan Cricket Club. He was then forced to take a break from the game after hip surgery which left him barely walking during his recovery. KP made a swift recovery and has certainly wound back the clock on the field over the past couple of seasons with a few more to come.
