In addition to our Executive Committee, and our Committee Members, the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club relies heavily on the efforts of senior club members to take on the pivotal roles of Club Patron, and Registrar, which are vital to the administrative success of Leeming Spartan.

Together, these two long-standing positions form the newly established Committee Board, and whilst they are not official Committee Appointments (unlike our Executive Committee and Committee Members), they too are comprised of individuals who have provided years of hard work and dedication to the Club.

The Board can also be seen to signify a lifetime of dedication to the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club, such is the calibre of those elected.

Individually, the Club Patron and Club Registrar are vital positions within the Club, providing support to the fundamental operation of the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club on a corporate level, bringing in new players and providing guidance through experience, which is more important than ever in this new era.

John Ipsen

Club Patron

2nd Year – Since 2015

John is a former President of the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club, serving five years in the top job, and was later inducted as a Life Member in 2012 for his efforts. These qualities alone make John the obvious choice for Club Patron in 2016/17.

The role of the Club Patron is an honorary term to not only recognise John’s many years of commitment to the Club but significantly, the title also recognises his ongoing support in the current era.

His support of the Spartans is highlighted through his roles as First Grade manager and Chairman of Selectors in the previous season. Providing further examples to John’s knowledge of club structures, he also serves on the board of the East Fremantle Football Club, a position he has held for many years now.

John holds a keen interest in the wellbeing of the Club on an executive and corporate level, and we look forward to having his accompaniment throughout the 2016/17 season.

Graeme Ashley

Club Registrar

23rd Year – Since 1993

The epitome of the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club, Graeme Ashley’s commitment to the Spartans is unparalleled, extending more than 40 years.

In addition to the mountain of other work he provides around the Club, he has and continues to serve as our Club Regsitrar, a role he has performed for 23 years.

Even now, in 2016/17, Graeme continues to be one of the most dedicated members at the Club, and whilst his playing days are over, his work off the field further exemplifies his importance to the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club.

As Club Registrar, Graeme is the first port of call for all of our new members, ensuring they are all cleared to play before the opening round. A task that requires ongoing attention, Graeme is clearly the perfect choice for Club Registrar, and we are extremely grateful to have him back for 2016/17!
