The Leeming Spartan Cricket Club is excited to announce today the unveiling of our new Club Logo which we hope will serve us well in the years beyond our recent one-hundredth anniversary.
As many will be aware, the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club commissioned a new logo ahead of its one-hundredth year in 2017, and we have used this ever since. Designed by Secretary Daniel Coombs, the logo featured an imposing Spartan armed with a spear on a shield with a banner to denote our centenary.
The logo replaced the longstanding ‘Spartan Head’ logo (pictured below) that has been used for about thirty years. The current ‘Centenary Logo’ was based on a design from the Spartan Cricket Club in the 1930s and has been extremely well received.
So much so in fact that it was recently decided that the new logo would incorporate the design of the Centenary Logo but remove the references to our 100th Year.
As the Centenary Year has come and gone in 2018, we are now looking to the future and a logo that will take us into the next decades at the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club. It was a simple decision in the end to incorporate the 100th Year logo and use this as the basis of our new one going forward.
The new Spartan Logo will take us forward in 2021 and beyond and serve as the perfect identifier for the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club.
A special thank you to Daniel Coombs who designed the logo and to Travis Birt and the team from Icon Sports who produced it. You can view the new logo below;

Spartan Logo History:
Future Use:
Please note that this new version of the Leeming Spartan logo will be put into general usage next year in 2021. It is a substantial task to update all imagery not just on our website but marketing materials, social media, emails and printed documents, and as such this will be a bit-by-bit task completed between January and July 2021.
Our clothing this year however will utilise the new logo and we are currently busily preparing the new order for next season. This is so we can begin the transition to our new logo this season as typically clothing is the hardest to phase out. As always, our clothing will be made available for purchase on our website or in person at the clubhouse.
