The full list of grades for the 2020/21 Season have been announced by the South Metropolitan Cricket Association recently, and are now available for viewing below.
This season the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club has elected to have a whopping nine sides, with 99 players on the field each week. Following heavy discussions with our captains and players, we have this season opted to field two two-day (75-over) sides and seven one-day (35-over) sides. This is also in conjunction with our Formula15 side that plays on Tuesdays starting in November.
We are now several rounds in to the season, one that has been crazy and hectic already with the impact of COVID-19, although we thought it still worthwhile to share to all our followers and visitors the impressive number of teams we have and what grades they’ll be playing in this season.
We began the 2020/21 season looking at having seven sides and this was quickly increased to nine, and such is the strength of our stock at present we may even have the possibility of a tenth side. Chairman of Selectors and Club President Peter Coombs is ecstatic with the turnout and calibre of the players available and notes that this coming weekend we have another nine players making themselves available for selection in addition to the 99 already fielded last week.
These are all senior cricket teams and the minimum age to play is 16. Those who are younger and are wishing to join the Leeming Spartan army are encouraged to register via the Leeming Spartan Junior Cricket Club by clicking here.

In more major news we can also reveal that the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club recently nominated its ninth side with the SMCA and excitingly this team comprises of players from our Under-17s, their parents, and some of the wise heads of the Club. It will serve to be a great opportunity to bring together our newest Spartans and ingratiate them within the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club this season.
