Ahead of our awesome Day at the Trots coming up on Monday September 28th, be sure to read on below to learn all about what’s in store and what the plan will be for our trip to the Pinjarra Paceway!

The day we have in store is going to be fantastic – and for those unaware, all Spartans have been invited to attend the Pinjarra Paceway’s Day At The Races, commencing at 11:30am on Monday the 28th of September – a public holiday that makes it the perfect date to enjoy a brilliant day out.

The day is one that will feature plenty of pacing, punting and pints, and for just $35.00 you will get entry into the venue, a roast lunch and your first drink – plus VIP parking.

The Leeming Spartan Cricket Club will also be hiring a bus for the day that will leave the SpartanHQ on John Connell Reserve at 10:30am. The bus will take everyone down for the one-hour trip to the Pinjarra Paceway, and will be able to then take us all home at the completion of the event. It has been priced at just $20.00 for a two-way return trip – an extremely cheap offering given the length of the journey.

Read on below to learn how the day will work and what to expect!

09:00AM – Big Breakfast:

The Spartans are putting on a $15.00 breakfast at the clubhouse on John Connell Reserve for everyone wishing to come to the Club and then go via bus first.

For just $15.00 it is going to be a breakfast for the ages, with bacon, eggs, BBQ, sausage, pikelets, scrambled eggs, tomato, coffee, tea, and more! It is an all you can eat buffet, so you can refill as often as possible!

The breakfast begins at 0900hrs on Monday at the Leeming Spartan Clubhouse! No RSVP required here and you will also be able to pay by either cash or card on the day.

10:30AM – Bus Arrives:

At 10:30am the bus arrives and those wishing to go in style will be chauffeured to the Pinjarra Paceway.

The safe option for the roughly one-hour long trip down to where the action happens!

Better yet it is a return trip and priced at just $20.00! You will also be able to pay by either cash or card on the day.

Please note the bus trip is optional and you are more than welcome to make your own way down there, with VIP parking also provided on the day as part of your $35.00 entry ticket.

The bus is however a return trip and will depart at 1830hrs.

11:30AM – Arrival & Entry:

Tickets for the main event are just $35.00 and include a roast lunch, a pint and VIP parking, plus of course entry into the event.

Payment is possible at the gate upon entry, where everyone will then receive a wristband to wear which will provide you with your free drink, free race book and meals.

The plan is to arrive at the gate, mention you are with the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club and they will go through a private gate that will have a laminated sign on it that displays the Spartan logo. This private gate is the one next to the main gate on Paceway Court opposite the cemetery.

Once inside the gate you can park anywhere as it’s a big open area (for those not taking the bus of course). Once parked, everyone is to make their way up to the main entrance doors where we will be greeted and taken to our private function area.

There will also be a couple of raffles throughout the day.

12:30PM – First Race:

The first race of the day will be at 12:30pm, which gives us just over an hour since arrival to prepare!

The Pinjarra Paceway have also very kindly named one of the day’s races after the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club – appropriately titled the ‘Spartan Cup’ – so be sure to keep an eye out for when it runs!

06:30PM – Bus Departs:

The bus returning us back to the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club will be departing at 6:30pm in the evening Monday 28th September. The bus will only be able to take those home who also arrived on the bus as one-way fares are not available.

Raffles & Winners:

Throughout the day a series of raffles will also be conducted, and there is even the opportunity for winners to ride in a double-cart behind a horse on the day! This will be part of the Spartan Cup and the winner will also receive a trophy. Please note though that enclosed shoes are required to ride in a double-cart.

Various other prizes will be available throughout the day, with tickets priced at $5.00 each.

What To Wear:

The dress for the day is smart casual with jeans perfectly acceptable. We are also encouraging Spartans to please wear their formal club shirt too. Enclosed shoes are preferred.
