Well the end of the cricket season is upon us, but not before the business end of the year happens on and off the field!
This is a summary of the important dates to have in your calendar from now until the end of March;
Thursday 12th March – Read/Waterer Medal Count. The annual “Best and Fairest” Medal Count named after Leeming Spartan Royalty in Lew Read and Brian Waterer. Be sure to be at Spartan HQ for a 7pm start to hear MC Glenn Hack read out vote by vote, round by round each of our seven captains’ votes to hear who will be judged the Spartan Cricketer of the Year.
Tuesday 17th March – SMCA Wind Up @ Spartan Headquarters. Another annual tradition where the SMCA season is wrapped up with the 1st Grade Jim McKenna Medallist is named along with all grades’ batting and bowling trophies are awarded. This is an invite only event.
Saturday 28th March – Leeming Spartan Season 2019/20 Wind Up @ Spartan Headquarters from 7pm. Tickets $30 per person. Be sure to get your tickets ASAP from the club as we wrap up the season in style. All our Grade Trophies are awarded plus individual awards from the club such as the Graeme Ashley Best Club Person Award, the Jack Knox Peden Best Club Junior Award and possibly the coveted Life Membership could be bestowed on another long term servant to the club. Tickets are $30 per person including a 3 course meal, available at the club now!
