Following an astonishing victory by the First Grade in their semi-final last weekend, we’re extremely excited for our Grand Final clash against Armadale!
Listed below is all the information you need to ensure you’re up to speed heading into Saturday.
Also be sure to get down to the clubhouse this Thursday for our final ‘training’ of 2016/17, and help celebrate the fantastic win from last weekend.

It’s a Thursday special!
Watch our First Grade train, listen to some important announcements, hear the side be selected, and of course, enjoy some very cheap drinks!
It’s also the first game of the 2017 AFL season between two powerhouses rivals in Carlton and Richmond, and we’ll be televising it from 7:00pm.
Dinners will of course be running all night long!
Who are we playing?
We’re taking on Armadale in this weekend’s First Grade Grand Final after their excellent victory over minor premiers Thornlie over the weekend.
It is a matchup between fourth and second live from the home of cricket!
Armadale have defeated us twice this season, but with finals a whole different game, it is even odds this weekend!
Where and when is it?
Our Grand Final begins Saturday March 25th from 1:00pm at John Connell Reserve!
We won the right to host this year’s finale after finishing higher on the ladder.
A fantastic home grand final at John Connell means that the Spartan Bar, kitchen, and clubhouse will be open all weekend!

When do I get there?
The Clubhouse and bar opens at 12:00pm on both day one and two, and will operate all day until late.
The BBQ will also be going strong all day, so make sure you get down and stick around for the ultimate day on any sporting club’s calendar!

How’s the weather?
It’s perfect! A top of 30º and an average of 27º with clear skies and sun all day Saturday will set the stage for a great weekend, with no rain forecast.
It’s great news after last Saturday’s dark and cloudy day that saw a delayed 2:00pm start, but touch wood, there should be no such instance the following week!
Day two currently sees some cloud forming with a lower top of 24º forecast, with strengthening winds, but once again, no rain is forecast.
If there is any change at all, it is likely to be positive news, with Monday through to Friday next week all perfect with sun and a maximum hovering around 26º.

Who’s welcome?
Absolutely everyone!
We encourage everyone and anyone to come down and support the boys. Our Sponsors and Life Members will of course be in attendance, cheering on the First Grade boys, and we highly encourage you to do the same!
Be at John Connell Reserve (just off Dimond Court in Leeming) this Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm!

Bar opens at 12:00pm sharp.
Is food available?
Certainly, our kitchen and BBQ will be operating all day to provide burgers, hot dogs, hot chips, and more!
What should I wear?
All Spartans are encouraged to wear either their light blue training shirt or navy blue formal shirt.
It is worth noting that clothing is still available for purchase from the bar.
What about parking?
Parking is entirely free, all day, so there’s no need to worry about the car!
