The Leeming Spartans Cricket Club proudly congratulates four true club legends – Brian Waterer, Graeme Ashley, Peter Coombs and John Ipsen who were honoured by the South Metropolitan Cricket Association on Friday night at the 30th Anniversary celebration’s for their outstanding contributions to both our club and the wider cricket community.
Each of these gentlemen has played an enormous role in shaping the culture, success and spirit of the Spartans over many years through volunteering, leadership, mentoring and unwavering dedication.
Their remarkable years of service highlight just how much they have given back to the club and the association:
• Brian Waterer — 1958 until his passing in 2025
• Graeme Ashley — 1977 to present day
• John Ipsen — 2006 to present day
• Peter Coombs — 2013 to present day
Together, their contribution spans well over a century of service to the Leeming Spartans and community cricket.
Recognition like this is richly deserved and reflects the respect and admiration they have earned throughout the SMCA community. Their efforts behind the scenes and around the club have helped create the strong, welcoming and successful culture that continues today.
Congratulations Brian, Graeme, Peter and John your contribution to the Leeming Spartans Cricket Club has been exceptional, and we thank you for everything you have done for our club and our community.
