Congratulations to Bullcreek Leeming Amateur Football Club Legend and Leeming Spartan Premiership Player Paul Petkovich, who plays his mammoth 400th game for the Bombers this weekend!
Pecko has been one of the BLAFC’s greatest ever, both on and off the field, having played an incredible 23 seasons, twenty of which he has spent on their Committee!
He has served as everything, from secretary, to treasurer, to Vice President, and President!
Make sure you get down to the Creek on Beasley Oval to show your support in Pecko’s record 400th game this Saturday as the Bombers take on arch rivals Willetton.
It is also our Spartans at the Creek Day, meaning there will be plenty of familiar faces standing around the bar and smokers area, something that is certainly a common sight during the summer months!
We’re heading there from midday to watch the action, including the league game, and it promises to be a fantastic day!
Pecko was a part of our inaugural one-day grade premiership in 2007, when the Spartans clinched our first title in the lettered-grades (ODA down).
He proved his all-round sporting ability that year, amassing a very impressive 361 runs for the season to finish second on our run-scorers list for that grade, and has since been a common sight at the Spartans, always taking part in our annual Mitch Gillam Cup games, where he opens the batting and launches a couple of monster hits over the ropes – usually in the first over!
Congratulations mate on a fantastic achievement, 400 great games!
