The funeral for Spartan Life Member Maureen Preedy will be held on Friday 1st May at 1000hrs and all Spartans have been invited to pay their respects by viewing the service online.
It is with extremely deep sadness that the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club advises that one of our beloved life members in Maureen Preedy has passed away yesterday aged 69.
The Club experienced a sense of déjà vu in 2002, when, after a two year term, Peter Read relinquished the Presidency and Brian Waterer returned to the position he had, incredibly, occupied for a record twenty one seasons over two stints. Since first debuting for the Club in the 1999/2000 season, Shannon has established himself as the ultimate Leeming Spartan stalwart, accumulating an achievements list that is far and above what one could expect, and his induction as a Life Member is well and truly deserved.
