In what is without doubt one of the most remarkable achievements in Leeming Spartan history, Brad Mant recently recorded his 12,000th run for the Club!
Becoming the first Spartan to achieve this record in our 98 year history, it is perhaps one that will stand the test of time, serving as a banner of Manty’s long term commitment to the Club.
In his recent score of 106 not out, Brad reached the incredible milestone, thereby making him the first (and only) Spartan to record 10,000, 11,000, and now 12,000 runs!
Former President Peter Read’s 9036 is second on the list, meaning Manty now has more than a 3,000 run buffer at the top of the table.

Furthermore, despite the fact that he is no longer a spring chicken, Manty once again leads the list of most runs for the season, highlighted by that outstanding century and a string of scores above fifty.
In his knocks for the Club this season, Brad has recorded scores of 25, 13, 82, 68, 36, 106*, 41, and 40, opening the batting and getting the One Day B’s off to a flying start.
His excellent form now sees him sitting on 12,101 runs for the Club.
Forever a pulverising member of the Club both on and off the field, Manty has scored runs on a regular basis throughout a career spanning more than two decades, and in his 12,000, has played a number of remarkable innings.
His personal best of 194 is a Club record for the highest score, which he achieved in the 6th Grade in 2008.
Having played (and performed) all around the grades, including a number of years in Firsts, he is an excellent performer who has stood the test of time.
One of Manty’s many highlights include a Club-defining victory in the 1992/93 First Grade Grand Final, a victory which rejuvenated the Club – the effects of which are still felt today.
An average of over 35.00 puts him amongst the greatest Spartans of all time, and to achieve 12,000 runs is something incomprehensible.
Congratulations Manty, this is certainly one for the ages and we look forward to seeing where you leave the benchmark for our future Spartans to aspire to!
