Congratulations to Dale Putland for scoring the first century of the 2016/17 season for the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club on the weekend!
Dale smashed an incredible unbeaten 118, as our 7th Grade piled on 4/225 from just 37 overs (rain reduced), before comfortably winning by 65 runs.
Whereas previous season it took until after Christmas for the Club to record its first century of the season, thanks to Putto’s monumental efforts, we have obliterated that mark in what was our first game of the season.
Rain again threatened to prevent play, and despite a howling and cold breeze, Dale batted almost all day (coming in with 2 wickets down and less than 20 runs on the board), to record his third century and highest score for the Spartans, and more significantly, setting up an incredible victory.
Well done mate and we look forward to many more fantastic performances from you and all Spartans in 2016/17!
