It was truly a massive day at the Spartan Clubhouse on Saturday, as in addition to our scratch match, we were extremely fortunate to host the Community Office with Yaz Mubarakai MLA and Sue Ellery MLC, helping to make the Leeming-Jandakot areas even better!

Yaz is the local member for the seat of Jandakot in the Western Australia lower house, and has lived in the area for more than 20 years, previously running small businesses including Success Post Office, Café Royal and Majestic India restaurant, and has previously served as a City of Cockburn councillor from 2011 to 2015.

Sue is the Leader in the Legislative Council in the Parliament of Western Australia (the upper house) and is the Minister for Education and Training. Sue also represents the South Metropolitan region in the Legislative Council, and is the first woman to lead the Government in the Legislative Council!

It was fantastic to host their Community Office – a great initiative for those in the local area to get to meet their elected officials on a personal level, and we had locals from all around the suburbs attending here at the Leeming Spartan headquarters!

A very special thank you to both Yaz and Sue for coming down to the Spartan clubhouse over the weekend, and for getting involved with the Club on the eve of such a momentous occasion, with our one hundredth anniversary coming up in 2018!

We look forward to working closely with them in the coming months, and encourage all our members to get involved with the great work that they are doing!
